The U.S. Tennis Association says No. 9-ranked Mardy Fish is pulling out of this week's Davis Cup quarterfinal against France because of a health scare.
In a statement being posted Monday on USTA.com, the federation says Fish, the highest-ranked American player, was seen by doctors in Miami after playing there last week. He was told he has extreme fatigue and needs to rest for at least two or three days. The USTA is not saying exactly what is wrong with Fish.
The United States plays France at Monte Carlo starting Friday.
Ryan Harrison is replacing Fish on the U.S. roster.
