DESIGNING WOMEN Venus Williams is in the midst of completing a business degree, but her design firm, V Starr Interiors, is already responsible for work in a pair of NBA players' homes and those of other high-profile clients. On Friday night, she and sister Serena Williams dedicated a renovated Southeast Tennis and Learning Center in Washington, D.C. The Washington Post has an at-length feature on her goings-on away from the pro game, and what she's building for her post-WTA days.
IF IT'S BROOKE, DON'T FIX IT Brooke Shields has a new book out, and in it she harvests a story from her time with ex-husband Andre Agassi, one in which he grew angry after she put Friends co-star Matt LeBlanc's fingers in her mouth in one of that iconic show's most popular episodes. Agassi reportedly grew so enraged that he got in his vehicle and drove from L.A. back to Las Vegas, his home. Shields is quick to highlight this story when doing press for her tome, but don't expect Agassi or wife Stefanie Graf to entertain questions about it anytime soon. (After all, they may be too busy already plotting next year's fantastic Halloween costumes.)
THAT WOZ GREAT Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray saluted Caroline Wozniacki for her New York City Marathon time of three hours and 26 minutes, but Roger Federer was a bit less intrigued, per Nick McCarvel's story for USA Today: "I don't like endurance. The whole running part for me is so boring." That's so Fed.
