What a week. Alexandr Dolgopolov adorned his head with dreadlocks, Martina Navratilova got through a foxtrot in a dress, Alisa Kleybanova and Venus returned and won their opening matches ... and the Americans bombed a Russian. Merely with tennis balls, that is.

See Mardy Fish and James Blake raining on Alex Bogomolov's videotaped parade in the stadium court stands at the Sony Ericsson Open:

The irony of the Americans interrupting their now–ex-pat's interview is not lost on the Spin, but the exchange seemed good-natured enough. (But remember when Barack Obama called Hillary Clinton "likable enough"? Hmm.) What is it with players interrupting others' Q&As in recent times? Still, no Maria Sharapova-esque "Do I have to do this over again?" line from Bogomolov.

A few more pieces from this week:

+ Tony Bennett had Novak Djokovic at his celebrity tennis event on Key Biscayne, and Rolling Stonecared.

+ On The Go Tennis caught up with Ryan Harrison for 15 Burning Questions, and he called his style sense "not very good," adding, "I’m the type of guy who will walk in and buy clothes. I don’t remember the last time I went shopping..." Don't worry, Ryan. We noticed. And it's okay. Not everyone can pull off the fresh colors and polos sported by those international youngsters/young stars.

+ Parting Shot: Who knew Caroline Wozniacki's boyfriend, No. 1 golfer Rory McIlroy, starred in *Jaws 2*?

+ Parting Shot II: Why in the wide world of sports are Indian Wells and Miami tournaments not televised in the early rounds? These are two premier events, involving the stars of the ATP and WTA, respectively, and fans can't see the action anywhere on the web or the tube. And they complain about it significantly more—and more angrily—than they do about the confounded, overblown "grunting" gripe that is drummed up every month. Venus Williams played her first tennis match that mattered in six months, and no one save those on the island could see it. TV heads and tour chiefs need to figure this out and broaden and augment the fan experience accordingly. Until then, as blogger-tweeter @OleRafa said, there is no so-called "fifth Slam."

With that said, enjoy the action from Miami, Spinmeisters!
