Count it: 406. No, not the number of seconds Rafael Nadal takes between points in a Wimbledon match, lest some detractors be believed. Rather, it is the number of times he can bounce a tennis ball in a row on the edge of his Babolat racquet before dropping it. Witness this seeming proof:

Nothing yet has shown up online to indicate that the feat was the product of camera tricks. Nadal wasn't alone in the stunt, though: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Caroline Wozniacki all participated as well, and Nadal even issued a challenged directly to Radwanska here:

At the outset, Nadal noted that he once bounced a ball on his racquet's edge more than 100 times. He would go on to bounce it more than 400 times without fail, of course. Proud humility. Underpromising, overdelivering. That's Rafa to the end.
