Perhaps you haven't lived as a tennis fan until you've seen the one and only Elton John slip a forehand passing shot down the line on Andre Agassi. That's just what he did at the 36-second mark here:

That point was one of many played out in various singles and doubles scenarios during the Smash Hits event put on by Mylan World Team Tennis, the annual fundraiser that longtime friends Billie Jean King and Sir Elton orchestrate by fielding mixed-gender squads of players. Team Elton ultimately won, 17-11, in true WTT fashion.

Steffi Graf and Tracy Austin faced off in doubles against Martina Navratilova and Lindsay Davenport while Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick played Agassi and James Blake. Married tandem Graf and Agassi played against Navratilova and John. And then Roddick closed out the mini-matches by besting the recently newsy Blake, 5-1.

The event raised $1 million for the third time in its 23-year history, with proceeds going to fund HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programs. This time the exhibition played out on the strip in front of Caesars Palace. In 2014, celebrities and active and retired tennis stars took part in good-natured match play at Royal Albert Hall in London.

Where these titans of tennis return to play in 2016 remains to be seen, but their noble cause always calls for a replay.
