Venus turns and asks Strycova, "Was that look for something?" "Well done," Strycova replies, to which Venus offers a sharp, immediate retort: "Okay, good." Venus almost appears not done with the situation, even as Strycova lopes away to her chair, likely stung by the loss, and at having blown a match point on Venus' serve while up 6-5, 30-40, in the deciding set.
To note, this is hardly Strycova's only awkward post-loss appearance at the net to "greet" an opponent. Witness Exhibit A from September 2014, that against Elina Svitolina. In this instance, good on Venus for calling out Strycova's poor sportsmanship, which included complaining at length repeatedly to the chair umpire about Venus' (accurate) challenge calls.
In short, it seems the 28-year-old better Czech herself before she wrecks herself.
