Roger Federer is back on the practice courts and hitting in Monte Carlo, indicating that he plans to play the Masters event as scheduled.

The No. 3-ranked Federer withdrew from Miami with a stomach bug, and has not played since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery two months ago.

Federer said he injured himself getting ready to give his daughters a bath on the morning following his semifinal defeat to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open. He withdrew from Rotterdam, Dubai and Indian Wells, but added Miami to his schedule upon successful rehab and resumption of training.

He was originally scheduled to return to the tour in Monte Carlo before shockingly announcing that he’d play in Key Biscayne.
