Stan Wawrinka has taken a wildcard into Queen's Club after his first-round defeat at the French Open. The Australian Open champion had not entered any grass-court events prior to Wimbledon, but has decided to add an extra tournament after his early exit at the year's second major left him with two extra weeks off.

"I'm looking forward to playing the Aegon championships," said Wawrinka. "It is an important tournament with a lot of history, and playing at Queen's Club gives me the best possible chance to become comfortable on grass."

After his first-round defeat to Guillermo Garcia Lopez at the French Open, Wawrinka cited a "need to put the 'puzzle' back together, find solutions, because the pressure is different. I'm not saying I have more pressure, but the pressure is different."
