BRUSSELS (AP)—U.S. Open semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer has had surgery to remove a bone spur from her right elbow, and she hopes to play in the French Open.
Wickmayer’s agent, Olivier R. van Lindonk, wrote in an e-mail that the operation took place Saturday in Belgium.
The recovery time is expected to be about 10 days. The French Open begins May 23.
Wickmayer, a Belgian, is ranked 12th in the WTA.
