Results from last week's challengers:
- Yanina Wickmayer took the $100,000 Torhout challenger at home in Belgium, defeating Simona Halep 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
- Rebecca Marino won her third straight $50,000 challenger event, defeating Ashley Wienhold 6-1, 6-2 in Troy. Marino also won the Kansas City challenger the week before, and the Saguenay challenger at home in Canada two weeks earlier.
- Alison Riske won her second challenger in a row, lifting the title at the $50,000 event in Joue-les-Tours with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Vesna Manasieva, who defeated Jelena Dokic in the semifinals. Riske also won the $75,000 challenger at Barnstaple the week before. Her last loss was to fellow 19-year-old Marino in Saguenay.
- Tobias Kamke defeated Ryan Harrison 6-1, 6-1 to win the Tiburon challenger. Harrison defeated Carsten Ball in the semifinals and Donald Young in the second round.
- Karol Beck defeated Gilles Muller 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-5 to win the $125,000 Tashkent challenger. Somdev Devvarman, playing the week after winning the men's singles at the Commonwealth Games, lost to Milos Raonic in the second round. Raonic retired to Beck in the quarterfinals.
- Marc Giquel won the Rennes challenger 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-1 against Stephane Bohli, who ended the run of Frank Dancevic in a close third-set tiebreak in the semifinals. Dancevic defeated Grigor Dimitrov and top seed Arnaud Clement in the previous two rounds.
