This is your daily post for discussing today's events as the second week of Wimbledon opens. Yesterday I was in south-west London, and I can tell you that it would have been a good day for playing some tennis, as the sun was out during the afternoon. Today's weather looks less promising - light showers look quite likely to disrupt at least some of the day's play. Where I live, a few miles away, we're completely clouded over. Today's schedule, revised to take account of Roger Federer's walkover into the quarterfinals due to Tommy Haas' injury, can be found here.

Yesterday I managed to pick up Pete and without any major mishaps. Other than paying for parking before returning to my car, and neglecting to take the ticket back from the machine - which turned out not to be a problem, as someone behind me had handed the ticket in to the attendant before leaving. Who says only blondes have blonde moments?

This morning I am making a mad dash over to Wimbledon to try to be on Court 1 by 11am; I have just located a ticket (great seat, too!), and taking the risk of yet of another washout after Saturday. It will be a long day - and it was also a late night last night. I was with Pete, D-Wiz, D-Wiz' cousin Adeline and Miguel Seabra, and we were making a special study of the latest-opening drinking venues in and around Wimbledon Village. I'd say more, and may do later, but time is pressing! -- Rosangel
