The fourth round could see some big battles in the women's field at Wimbledon, with the draw pitting Serena Williams against Maria Sharapova and Justine Henin against Kim Clijsters at that stage.

Defending champ Serena and former champ Sharapova are the biggest names in the first quarter but only one will get through to the final eight. The other quarterfinalists will come from a pool that includes Birmingham champ Li Na, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Agnieszka Radwanska. Sharapova could face Daniela Hantuchova in the third round.

The second quarter features two of the new guard, Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka. French Open finalist Sam Stosur, searching for self-belief on this surface, is the second-highest seed after Wozniacki, and could take Aravane Rezai in the fourth round. Rezai must first get through a tricky opener against Magdalena Rybarikova. The section also contains two blasts from the past. 1999 semifinalist Mirjana Lucic takes on Azarenka in the first round after qualifying for this event, and Kimiko Date Krumm is also here.

The battle of Belgium between Clijsters and Henin is slated for the third quarter. Fellow Belgian Yanina Wickmayer is also here, but must first get through American teens Alison Riske, who defeated her in Birmingham, and perhaps last year's quarterfinalist Melanie Oudin. If Oudin wins, she could potentally set up a rematch of last year's fourth-round meeting with Jelena Jankovic.

Five-time champ Venus Williams leads the fourth quarter, which also contains fallen stars Ana Ivanovic and Dinara Safina. French Open champ Francesca Schiavone, Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, Alisa Kleybanova and former finalist Marion Bartoli are also lurking.
