Mornin', everyone. We're all in recuperation mode here at Tennis.com, but as always I want to make sure you have a good place to chat and call matches in this slack time before we begin to ramp our coverage for Wimbledon. BTW, I will be in London for the entire fortnight this year.

Today, while running along the Hudson River, I saw a man sitting on a bench playing the trumpet. He sounded pretty good, too. But he was wearing a helmet, as if there were a law to that effect. Of course, it was a cycling helmet; I guess the guy was just too lazy to take it off. But in some ways it seemed hilarious and apt symbol of what New York is like under mayor Michael "the nanny" Bloomberg.

For those of you who may be visiting New York soon, the promenade along the Hudson on the West Side between 59th street and 96th street is really a groovy park, laden with large swatches of dune and other grasses (with a wooden boardwalk running through them), and a whole bunch of sculptures, many of which appeal to me - and I'm not an easy person to please when it comes to these outdoor installations, mainly because I'm singularly umoved by large, weird shapes in steel and other mediums. But the variety in Riverside Park is delightful, with plenty of more-or-less representational figures and constructions. Enjoy what tennis there is, I'll be back with a Roddick post a little later.
