Good morning. Off-topic conversation seems to be in current vogue at TW - we hit almost 1,000 comments on yesterday's "Your Call", and it's fair to say that a lot of them weren't about tennis. Off-topic stuff is OK on this thread, but if you feel the urge to discuss something tennis-related, this is the place to do it. It seems that many of the Tribe don't have any televised tennis to discuss - I'll get some coverage of Indianapolis tomorrow and over the weekend, but am really waiting for the start of the Masters Series event in Toronto next week. Before then, I plan to play the official DVD of the 1980 Borg-McEnroe Wimbledon final, to see how the memory of it compares to this year's epic.
While looking for that DVD earlier today, I went digging in one of my cupboards, and found some old recordings, mostly on videotape, of matches that I haven't watched for a long time - in most cases, not since the recordings were made or acquired. These include the US Open final of 1981 (McEnroe d. Borg), the Roland Garros final of 1981 (Borg d. Lendl), Roddick vs. El Aynaoui (Australian Open 2003), Sampras vs. Lendl (breakthrough US Open, 1990), the Roland Garros final of 1998 (Moya d. Corretja), Borg d. Gerulaitis (Wimbledon SF 1977), Sampras vs. Corretja (1996 US Open), Andre Agassi's 1992 Wimbledon win over Goran Ivanisevic, Stefan Edberg's victory over Miroslav Mecir in the Wimbledon semifinals in 1998, and Jimmy Connors' defeat of Bjorn Borg in the 1976 US Open final - a match that was discussed in TW earlier this week. There are plenty of others too - I haven't even opened the box containing WTA matches. One of the problems with making so many match recordings - I have hundreds - is that if I spent too much time watching them, I would never have time to watch live tennis. But if anyone has thoughts regarding which of the above I should try to watch first (or other suggestions to make - I may even have the recordings somewhere), feel free to offer them.

Note: As always, "Your Call" is the daily thread specifically for the purpose of getting together on the cyber-sofa to discuss or call ongoing matches, or hot tennis topics of the day; It's the"Crisis Center" thread for those weeks when there are no Grand Slams, Masters, or Fed or Davis Cup in progress. You can go off-topic here if you like as well. This makes it easier for you to stay on-topic at "premium" posts. For going off-topic, you also have Monday Net Posts and Deuce Club on a regular basis.
