World No. 27 Nikoloz Basilashvili faces up to three years in jail after being charged with "violence against a family member committed in the presence of a minor" in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on Sunday.

The 28-year-old was arrested Friday after Neka Dorokashvili reported being “physically assaulted” by her ex-husband. Their five-year-old son Lukas reportedly witnessed the alleged incident.

Basilashvili was released after posting bail of 100,000 Georgian Lari (approximately $31,397) and denies the accusation, which falls under Article 126, Part 2, Subsection J of the nation’s Criminal Code. He began the 2020 ATP season 4-5 when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the tour’s suspension in early March.

"I feel your support and love for which I am extremely grateful for," Basilashvili said in a translated post on his official Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/NikolozBasilash/posts/2270003209961594?__xts__[0]=68.ARCKUNTRyNLPfKPJQtFeX345n1PD4-5Bgj6DcmjSZlY8zOAsZuNwXEDFod3V3lWyyXeI2LKUyMOFXEIiRaaNKlEEneIes07C_RMraqf1waGnbjcMbrvcOvIMtvNs0rPUHZ5VcyXwShK9THbYsOhzr-sI3H-ZkN3DNIkz_tCPw42kEdnhYns7OIvhrjxBcU-YzyRjfGRBWBrCSltriWil_2zvSGES3PYF50IvMrbm5pDsNuA6BDvP8hJtMT66zFHROd81tpU-f8qVGGbhlthS1SvrzPWxZddjTuPATF_J0_noH1iEGNidzkeVP31R9xwh68yRWodH6I-Tf0lcoVSD9XoH&__xts__[1.
