WATCH: Fognini smashes multiple racquets in Morocco

Fabio Fognini is famous for his penchant for flipping out, and this week in Marrakech, he delivered big time in the meltdown category. Down a set and a break to Jiri Vesely, the No. 2 seed smashed one of his Babolat frames and left it on the clay.

Not satisfied with just one, the Italian broke two more during the changeover—one of which has to be the cleanest breaks in the history of racquet smashes. The racquet head flew off just past Fognini's head while the handle remained in his hand.

Fognini would lose the match 7-6 (2), 6-4, pushing his 2019 record on clay further down to 0-4. Though still ranked No. 18, Fognini has won just one match in six events since the Australian Open. The good news is the clay season has only just truly begun, so there's plenty of time for the Italian to find his rhythm and keep his entire racquet in his hand.

Vesely is currently ranked No. 101, and is a three-time semifinalist in Morocco.
