The USTA announces seven of its eight U.S. Open men's wild cards, including 2001 U.S. Open champion Lleyton Hewitt of Australia; 2005 U.S. Open semifinalist Robby Ginepri; American teenager Ryan Harrison; NCAA champion Steve Johnson of USC; 18s Nationals champion Jack Sock; No. 89 Donald Young, who just reached his first ATP semifinal in Washington; and France’s Julien Benneteau. One additional wild card will be given to the winner of the 2011 U.S. Open Wild Card Playoff, an eight-player invitational event held by USTA Player Development at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Md., this week. Hewitt and Benneteau received wild cards as part of the USTA's reciprocal wild card agreement with Tennis Australia and the French Tennis Federation.
