On Tuesday, the tennis community came together at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. to celebrate the official launch of TeamFAME: Future Aces Modeling Excellence.

TennisFAME’s mission has four core standards of success: character education, academic enrichment, tennis and learning, and health and wellness. The goal is “to inspire future leaders through character education, academic, enrichment, and healthy living.”

The program, based out of the ITHF, will include after-school enrichment for fifth-grade students from Newport during the school year. Sessions will be divided between Tennis & Learning and Character Development and Leadership Education.

"The Hall of Fame is located on some of the most beautiful property in Newport, and our facility is packed with resources – an educational museum, outstanding tennis courts, talented coaches, and the space to host students in a group learning environment," ITHF CEO Todd Martin said. "We cannot simple reside here, we want to be an active part of the community and to share this space with our neighbors, and TeamFAME has opened those doors."

TennisFAME is just one of more than 350 nonprofit youth development organizations under the National Junior Tennis & Learning Chapter (NJTL) that provides free or low-cost tennis and education programming to more than 225,000 under-resourced youth.
