Andy Murray believes that youngster Alexander Zverev will eventually move up in the rankings, but said that the 18-year-old German has a lot of work ahead.

Murray crushed Zverev, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, in the first round of the Australian Open.

The former No. 1-ranked Boys’ player, now ranked No. 83, is very tall and agile. But he was pretty frustrated against the two-time Grand Slam champion.

“He's obviously very good,” Murray said. “There's a lot of good, young players coming through just now. He's quite different [than] a lot of the other ones. He's much taller, which has benefits. Also some negatives, as well.  It might take him a little bit longer to sort of develop into his body. And moving, you just have to be a bit careful with injuries and stuff, I think, until you physically get strong enough.

"But [it] obviously helps with his serve. He has big, big reach on the returns. He times the ball pretty good. He's got a lot of potential, for sure.”
