CASABLANCA, Morocco (AP)—Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland will play Victor Hanescu of Romania in the Grand Prix Hassan II final.

The top-seeded Wawrinka edged Potito Starace of Italy 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 on Saturday. He will go for his second ATP title on Sunday against Hanescu, who beat 2009 runner-up Florent Serra of France 6-4, 6-1 in the other semifinal.

Wawrinka advanced when Starace sent a backhand into the net.

With the final set at 3-3, the Italian sent a forehand long and threw his racket in disgust for giving Wawrinka two break-point chances. Wawrinka converted the first with a smash at the net.

Wawrinka fired a backhand winner down the line to clinch the first set. Starace broke Wawrinka twice in the second to force the decider.

The third-seeded Hanescu converted his first break point with a cross-court forehand winner to take the first set.

He then broke twice to lead 5-1 before a service return from Serra sailed long to give him victory.
